Thanks for stopping by!

This site started out as ‘The Marathon Baker: Adventures in Marathon Running and Cake Decorating‘ and was created to document all of the early mornings, sugary creations, and miles logged as I worked as a full-time cake decorator in a bakery and trained for a half marathon. Since starting this page, I have ran four half marathons, honed my cake decorating skills, started a home bakery business, worked as a marketing specialist for two healthcare networks, and have been making my way through grad school. Another useful piece of background info: my husband, Levi, and I (with our black lab Gunner) have made six moves in less than 4 years.

We landed back in Ohio in August of 2014 when Levi accepted a position with a new company. I am working in marketing for a large healthcare system, entering the final stretch of my grad program, and prepping for the arrival of the newest Stechschulte in March 2016!


Of course I’m still running and baking whenever I get a free minute! On New Year’s Day I had the idea to sign up for the Air Force Half Marathon in September 2016 – 6 months after welcoming Baby Boy Stech! Should be the most interesting race training I have ever done!
